Minoring in Modern Greek Studies can take you where you want to go!

The minor in Modern Greek Studies prepares students for success in the interconnected, global world of the 21st century. Directly descended from glorious Ancient Greek, Modern Greek is spoken in Greece, Cyprus, the Americas, Europe, Australia, and other locations of the vast Greek diaspora. Not to mention the vibrant heritage communities right here in our home state of New Jersey. Our program is designed to inspire and guide every student, with individualized instruction in small classes, in the study of language and culture, from the masterworks of literature to advanced linguistics to translation and interpreting. Our faculty bring teaching and research excellence from across the humanities, with expertise in areas such as Modern Greek pedagogy, art history, classics, comparative literature, history, political science, and religion. Students explore a broad arrange of knowledge in the field of modern Greek studies, acquire a wide range of skills, and chart their own unique direction.
